Product strategy advisory

Give your roadmap a clear customer, commercial purpose and basis for prioritization.

What does product strategy advisory address?

Product strategy explains which customer problem a product will solve, why the business is suited to solve it and how the team will learn whether its choices are working. A roadmap becomes more useful when those decisions are explicit.

I support founders and leadership teams that need to validate a product direction, prioritize competing requests or align a digital product with a UAE or Saudi growth plan. SaaS and education businesses are a focus, alongside other digital business models.

A roadmap is not a strategy

A list of features can create delivery momentum without resolving whether the product is useful or commercially viable. We start by examining the target user, the buyer, the problem and the existing alternatives. For an education marketplace, for example, the needs of learners and providers may differ. That is a business-model question before it is a feature request.

The advisory process separates known customer behavior from stakeholder opinion. Where evidence is missing, the roadmap should include a learning activity rather than silently treating an assumption as fact.

What we work on

  • Product thesis: target customer, problem, value proposition and commercial logic.
  • Discovery priorities: the assumptions that could change what you build.
  • Scope and sequencing: the smallest useful release or test, with dependencies made visible.
  • Outcome measures: activation, task completion, retention or other behavior appropriate to the product.
  • Decision ownership: how customer, sales, delivery and leadership inputs reach a prioritization decision.

Possible outputs

An engagement may produce a product-strategy brief, opportunity map, validation backlog, prioritized roadmap or outcome-measurement plan. The exact deliverables depend on the stage and decision. A mature product with retention problems needs different work from an idea without customer evidence.

Bring a product demonstration, customer feedback, usage summaries, the existing roadmap and commercial objectives. Technical estimates and delivery commitments remain with the team responsible for implementation unless separately included in the scope.

How does this connect to growth?

Acquisition should bring the right customers into an experience that delivers the promised value. Product positioning, onboarding and retention therefore belong in the growth conversation. If the product serves a new market, go-to-market advisory helps clarify customer access and the offer. If the existing journey is underperforming, growth strategy advisory helps locate the constraint.

What this engagement does not promise

Advisory work can improve the quality of decisions and the clarity of a roadmap; it cannot guarantee product-market fit. Fit requires evidence from customer behavior over time. Campaigns, software development and operational delivery should be scoped with the relevant implementation team.
